I prefer to see phone confirmation as an opt-in, keeping the default as email/web confirmation.

Not yet, and I am pushing for "not ever" but I would love to hear people's
feedback.
Geotrust is instigating a telephone verification into their QuickSSL product to
provide more robust authentication on the QuickSSL product line. They give you a
code when you place the order, then they call you at the number designated, and
you enter this number. They are okay with leaving it out of orders placed
through the API (which means us).
My initial reaction to this approach was that there might be different phone
systems, and an english centric approach.
I was considering making this something (eventually) that you could "opt-in" or
out of depending on your preferences.
thoughts??

Subject: Re: SSL Certs: Geotrust CSR instruction link in script
Geotrust now states the following in reference to QuickSSL orders:
The new real-time, two-factor Telephony Authentication requires that
you have access to a phone in order to submit this order. Part of
the authentication process requires that you receive a phone call
from our automated Telephony system to any number you specify during
this enrollment process. The phone number can be your company phone,
or it may be your personal or cell/mobile number. Please do not
proceed unless you have access to a phone.
Does this "two-factor Telephony Authentication" apply to QuickSSL orders
placed through OpenSRS as well?
