Reasons why we don't use the client scripts:

1. Difficulty of integrating opensrs with other registries
2. Insufficient in house expertise to make that happen.
3. Concerns about fraud caused by automation.
4. Desire to know a bit more about our customers.

Reasons why we are about to go automated:

1. We now have the cash to hire someone to do it.
2. We have managed to reduce attempted fraud to a reasonable level by other
means.
3. Want to get bigger and can't really if we continue to manually process.
4. It will not save salary costs but it might in the future by avoiding more
recruitment.

Some of the downsides of automation:

1. Losing contact with customers and therefore the ability to advise them on
other purchases (we wont know their buying history).
2. Inability to target upgrade offers without offering them to the wrong
people (possible but not easy to do if we fully automate).


Having said all that, we don't actually use the quick start system, we have
other scripts I have adapted/written which are driven from one central front
end script in our own management console but its still a manual process.
