It does worry me though because there have been cases of these programs being hijacked by harvesters resulting in the offending IP's being blocked for legitimate lookup. We could restrict it so it does not recurse to registrars name servers (i.e. just use whois.opensrs.net for the domains we source from Tucows) but then it would become a less useful tool.
