Thanks, Rob. I'd seen the first, but not yet the second. Totally agree, though from a communications perspective I am skeptical that a significant percentage of even the English-speaking population will ever remember all the "CC-BY-FOO" combinations. People see acronyms like that and they just turn off their eyes -- I do it too. Out artist-in-residence wrote a pretty detailed post this issue: http://questioncopyright.org/CC-branding-confusion She proposes saying "ShareAlike license" when an informal descriptor is needed.
