you've just changed the driver aliases. nge driver does support mcp61
chipset. what i'm understanding is your hang is possibly due to
send/receive of packets for a long! is that leading to problem? cause
your both nge, nv_sata driver need to be verified. could you dtrace the
calls on both nge, nv_sata.

might be nv_sata/ide driver issues on heavy data though-put. one way to
check is disable/uninstall the nge, and verify if the problem still
persists. you may use the external nic adapter meantime.

cause is lvl-triggered so cpu is 100%.

Well, I'll wait to see if I can reproduce the hangs first now that I'm using nv_sata instead of ide... seems encouraging to this point.

BTW, I believe there is quite a bit that may need to be done to get the latest intel acpica bits working. To get it to compile is one thing, but not enough. Only had to modify two files once the uts/intel/sys/acpi and uts/intel/io/acpica where updated.

I might suggest a student project to work on the update, especially to document the all there areas that need to be checked for future updates. Is there any design documents (was it Casper Dik that did the initial work?) leftover from opensolaris.org before it closes down?
