When we attended Adaptive Path's UX week conference in DC, they did this great thing where they organized lunch around interests. And people sign up for it during the conference... I liked that a lot b/c I was able to meet people where I normally wouldn't (and I met great people at lunch! So it worked well). Since Dan is on the conference committee on this one I thought I'd point out how nice it was in hopes of transferring some thing that worked from one conference to another.
