Tim - Congratulations on making the switch ;) You're right that the principles and processes are largely the same - the differences are more about the cost and flexibility of materials compared to pixels. A good reference is the Industrial Designer Society of America (IDSA) human factors site - it has information on techniques and tools as well as recommended reading.
