Hi Just for the records, at wingman (a small Portuguese web consultant agency in Lisbon) we use two kind of templates, both in powerpoint. One template for the web design team with the website's information architecture and the wireframes (made on powerpoint, omnigraffle or even fireworks) with important notes. And then a second template, for the develop team, where we use the screens made by the designers and create a document with at least 6 chapters: a) website's information architecture; b) main css styles c) master pages d) main pages per type, e) common components and controllers and finally f) other important remarks. In both templates we put the wireframes or the screenshots at the left, with our markers at the top(a, b, c, d... and so on) and our notes at the right.
Well, but most of the times, i have the feeling that designers and developers don't read half of what we wrote, beside other problems like having more than one version of a spec doc, so I would also love to have some sort of "standard" spec format.. If I can help in any way, just let me know.
