The tact that students at SCAD have taken was to link IxDA with IDSA.
It is not always ideal, but it seems that the affinities are working
thus far. It means that IxDA doesn't have to apply separately to the
school.

As to what they do. Their biggest activity was well helping put on
the biggest most successful IxD conference in history. ;-) ... but
putting that side it is very hard to differentiate IxD at the student
group level within our world where we really teach ID as a converged
design practice, where IxD is just a piece of their overall puzzle.
But one thing that has been particularly successful was student run
tutorials in specific tools & methods that relate specifically to the
IxD pieces of the more converged design projects our students engage
in.

Our main issue is how to have IxDA not be perceived as an ID only
endeavor as there are separate departments for Interactive design and
other digital design disciplines.
