I can't speak for LOPSA, but this looks like a targeted offer from a potential sponsor. Granted, it is unsolicited and commercial and very similar to what Nimsoft did at LISA. It is also a "for members only" offer, which, IIR, is allowed. Would you be complaining if it was an offer from Pragmatic Programmers or O'Reilly?
Just because it is something you don't wan't doesn't make it "spam". On the other hand, I can see how this could get out of hand fairly easily. Can somebody on the board direct us to the policy that governs such email advertisements?
