Stack Exchange communities (ServerFault et al) are based around an idea of
questions and assoc'd answers that can be definitively answered (i.e. No
opinions, just facts.) So there is a need for a place where one can ask "what's
the best ____" or "what are people's opinions on ___" which are basically just
asking for people's opinions, which is not a good question for an SE site.
Plenty of SE Q&A's have very involved "Why" explanations as a part of the
answers, so it's not like that's not happening on SE.
