I agree. As an early member and vocal supporter, I was really looking for LOPSA to do what the DevOps movement has done for the profession: upsell the value of what we do, work out of the back office, champion the change from button pushing to code pushing, make tools that suck less, etc... Instead, LOPSA is crippled from pedantry.
