Slack is great! Their clients for a number of platforms are great, their web interface is great, the fact that you can get to it though irc and xmpp is great. But, for me, slack is only when there is a need for immediacy. Great for work for teams to be able to talk, and reach people, you can mention my name I'll know about it and will be able to get back to you as long as my phone is in wifi or mobile range. I absolutely don't want slack for anything that is not time-sensitive. Email is still one of the best solution for those. In the past, I have joined non-work related slack channels, I removed all notification within a day or two, and stopped visiting them within weeks, I seriously can't even remember what they were now. -- http://yves.zioup.com gpg: 4096R/32B0F416 _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
