Slack is expensive and has poor discoverability. There's a free level, but the big limitation is a 10,000 message buffer. Slack messages, like IRC or other IM systems, tend to be short. Get a hundred people together and you'll discover that history goes back just a day or two. Email stays forever, these days. Want to re-read the discussion about how to write a good employment ad? Google can find that; good luck if that had happened on slack. It doesn't serve the community. Incidentally, if you aren't using the existing #lopsa channels, why not? And why do you think you'll start using them when they're on Slack instead of IRC? -dsr- _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
