Yes, quite so.

The body of knowledge is comprised of all the things you know, in order to
work in the field. Facts, methods, techniques, principles, best practices,
etc.

Guides to that body of knowledge are things like reading lists, curriculi,
etc.  One can get the required knowledge by following the guide.  That's
what we have up at www.sabok.org, a proto-guide.  See www.swebok.org for a
mature example of a guide to a Body of Knowledge.

The purpose of the JESA submission would be to announce our proto-guide and
solicit wider participation from academia and industry in creating and
establishing the guide.
