I have a shuttle K45 with an OCZ SATAII SSD (30Gb) and a 1TB WD green drive. Running FreeNAS 0.69 and SC 7.4. I set the WD to go to sleep after 15 min and turned on the acoustic settings.
The OS and SC are on the SSD, FLACS on the spinning disk. Serves up 4 devices (2 SB 2 Boom) without even breathing hard. Boots in about 20 seconds, the web interface is very snappy. Very stable.
