I was going to post that I have a cheapo Belkin (bought on a whim at Walmart) that works great.
This morning, though, it was happily routing stuff around the home lan, but for mysterious reasons lots its connection to the cable modem and needed to be rebooted. It did the same thing last week, too. So, I won't post that it works great. It "usually" works. But, yes, it's not the greatest of routers. It's missing a lot of functionality that my (wired) Linksys has.
