Thanks for the request. I looked into supporting this about 6 months ago and determined it requires much finer audio position control than squeezeslave can currently provide and would require rewriting most of the audio processing code. If/when I rewrite SS to support sample rates other than 44.1/16 I would include smart crossfade as part of that effort.
