Barry,

I have been away over the weekend, the please forgive the delayed answer
to your mail.

The change in SqueezePad regarding the fixed volume is very very old and
intentional:
- users where confused, that in SqueezePad they could change the volume
even though it was set to fixed at 100%
- users forgot that their volume was locked at 100% and complained, that
moving the volume slider did not change anything
- it's consistent with how the current Touch is implemented, which also
shows the volume at 100% and disables the volume slider

One can still tap on the volume up and down buttons (or even hold them),
which is to support the most widely used IRBlaster plugin, that can also
remote control an external DAC.

So I'm afraid listening to the vol+ and vol- events is your best way to
integrate your audio processor in the current state.
Due to the reasons stated above I think it is very unlikely that I will
change SqueezePad in this area again.

Kind Regards
Stefan
