I dont know , but its not an encrytion algorithm its designed to decode varius inputs from unknown sources on varius playback systems , so its a codec . My personal -guess- is that it does not obfuscate that much . But its not the same demands as to look at movies or hear radio on non suported platforms :) that really drives reverse engineering , like DVD did .
