TBH quite honest, I was wondering, too... I recently looked in to our 
implementation of Slacker Radio, and it made me shudder... It's one of 
the first I did, and their feature set has grown considerably. It 
started out as a pure custom radio, MOD features got tacked on, but the 
API is awful, as it wasn't designed with most of those features in mind. 
They told me they were about to publish a completely new API. Alas I'm 
not sure if and when I'll have time to implement it :-(.
