My advice on this is to try to keep as mainstream as possible. If you do do then youll find that every issue you come across will almost always have surfaced somewhere else and been fixed. 2 years ago mainstream would have been something else but today it is definitely piCorePlayer on a Pi. You wont regret your decision.
