PiCorePlayer is an operating system specifically designed to be an LMS
sever and a player, you don't need any other operating system for the
Pi.

I use Pi USB > Topping E30 DAC > active speakers.

You don't need your receiver part of the Duet, you can use your
controller part of the Duet to control piCorePlayer (all one word).

Connecting your piCorePlayer to mysqueezebox.com is iffy, I don't think
you would need mySB.com for anything other than Tidal.

Yes' you would set up the Raspberry Pi using a web browser on any
machine connected to your network, you don't need to connect a screen,
mouse, keyboard to your Pi.
