I did not mean static. At least on my ASUS RT-AX86U and my Netgear
DGND3700v1 at a 2nd location allows setting a reserved IP address
outside the defined DHCP range. Note in the attached image DHCP range is
.32-254 and reserved IP addresses are below this range. This ensures
that DHCP cannot assign a reserved IP address to any device other than
the target MAC address. The reserved addresses are within the same
subnet. I consider this method to be a "best practice". At both
locations I have my LMS server at 192.168.0.16 so I only need one entry
for the LMS UI in all my browser favorites regardless of which location
I'm at.
