The context switching of both slim and IE goes up when that page is loaded - they are fighting each other for control of the CPU. All this switching is going to mess up the level 2 (L2) cache performance. Also, the ram and pagefile are going to be (potentially) impacted, depending on how much of each the two processes are using...
