You have the attention of the most important person you can have on this, but as Sean pointed out, it's a long term task. If you want to make sure it doesn't get forgotten, you need to file a bug report.
This is the place where you can record all of the detailed work that you have done so that any updates on the work being done on the problem can also add any details or questions. bugs.slimdevices.com is the proper place for tracking a problem, once confirmed as a problem. You had that confirmation a while ago, and have also been asked to file a report. Please do so.
