Today we did some new tests, and may confirm, for the first time, that bug is audible with ordinary audio files, without messing with the volume.
The file is "Polka finale", Walter Piston, Dorian Recordings DOR-90224. The first, very quiet passage has a clearly audible noise, somewhat like the low-bitrate artefacts.
