Thanks for this. Of course, on Debian 'uninstall' is not so simple. Just doing "aptitude remove slimserver" will leave the configuration files; is this OK? Or do you need to get rid of the config files, too, with "aptitude purge slimserver", and start completely from scratch? (Commands prefaced with 'sudo' for Ubuntu users.)
