Sean, that most of the memory gets pages out is not a good argument.
That either means

a) it's not being used. Which opens up the question why it has to stay
used.
b) it's being used some times. That means it will get paged in an
that's actually what typically kills the performance of a system
because all other tasks will be affected, too. Especially on Windows
but my Mac is not much better on this.

And no, I will NEVER understand, why a streaming software needs FIVE
TIMES the memory footprint of my photo editing software.
