Hi.
I tried the below steps for attaching a file to an email and here's
what happened.
I interacted with the sidebar and went to the network location or at
least the root drive of where the file was. Pressing vo\ didn't
expand the location and when I pressed command o to open the location
so I could file the file I wanted to attach, mail was busy for a very
long time. after a while, i force quit the application and there came
up a dialog about report this problem or ignore. I pressed ignore and
tried several more times but I just can't seem to get this process to
work.
Honestly, I'm feeling that most stuff I try on this thing isn't
working right and I wonder why did I leave windows?
Thanks for any help wit this inquiry.

Hi Olivia,
you asked: I would really appreciate knowing how to use the
spellcheck
feature of text edit. For instance, is there a way to have the
program suggest words like there is in microsoft word?
TK: In TextEdit, press cmd+semi-colon, TextEdit will then highlight
the misspelled word. Press VO-shift-m to bring up the contextual
menu that gives you correction options if it knows any. You could
also use cmd+colon which brings up the Spelling window, Interact
with the Correction Table to find your correction options. When
you've found the one you like simply press return and then it should
move on to the next misspelled word. If it doesn't find any
suitable correction, just type what you'd like it to be in the Edit
field where the misspelled word is located. These options, cmd+semi-
colon and cmd+colon also work in Mail as well. You'll have to press
ctrl plus the physical mouse button though to bring up the
Contextual menu as the VO-shift-m doesn't work properly in Mail.
Olivia: Also, how do I atatch files to email messages? I
haven't figured
out how to find a single file and atatch it to a message though I
can apparently atatch my whole documents folder.
TK: Press cmd-shift-a to attach something to your message. This
brings up the File Browser for you to choose what you'd like to
attach. Navigate within this dialog to locate your desired file.
Interact with the file Table once you've access the proper location
such as the Desktop or your Home Directory. If you wish to attach a
file that resides within a specific folder, press VO-back slash to
expand the folder then navigate down to find the document you wish
to attach. You can then either press return or Stop Interacting
with the File Table and then click the Open button.
HTH.
