Just on that subject, the new 13" Macbooks also come with a 2.4 processor.

Well, now, Good Old Lewy!!! Let's be fair.. :) If speakers don't
matter, and if you prefer the smaller laptop, the Macbook is awesome.
It, too, can have up to 4GB of ram, and I do not see any differences
between a 2.4GB and a 2.1GB processor. For Old Shaney here, a Macbook is
the best bang for the buck, no doubt. Now, if speakers do matter to you,
and you want the better graphics card, go Pro. I still couldn't justify
that much money, though. For me, it's Macbook standard all the way. I'm
gonna update the ram, the hard drive, and whatever else I can. Give me a
good microphone, a very good pair of headphones, and I have myself a
Macbook Pro without actually buying one for all that extra cash.

actually the specification of the macbook pro beets the macbook and
delivers better performance for the money. I owned a macbook and 2 weeks
later sent it back for my now studio notebook for touring with. my
macbook pro 2.4 with 4GB ram and 200GB drive is amazing. much better
than the macbook standard, more powerful, friendly and louder speakers
with decent quality

But is it really worth getting the MacBook Pro over the regular
MacBook? The specs seem to be about the same. And the pro costs so much
more in comparison.
Thanks in advance,

Heh dood, you might just hate this idea, and I wouldn't blaim you in
the slightest, but have you looked at ebay? They have 2.4 ghz macbook
pro units brand new going for, well last time I checked about $1800,
compaired with about $2500 in the apple store here in TO.
If you're going to pay top dollar either in store or via phone, then
go store. The store has way more going for it. Want an apple
compadible tv tooner usb or firewire device? The store has several.
Case? Bluetooth keybord? Fusion? Questions about how to do
something on a mac? Want to take a coarse in leppard? You can't do
any of that over the phone, but you can do it all in the store.
Want to bring your thing in for service? Form a relationship with the
ppl who work in the store. It's a huge investment. I bought mine
from a third party because of funding, but I'd love to get to meet
people in my friendly neighbourhood apple store at this point now that
I'm accessorizing.
Best,
Erik

I was about to get my MacBook, but wanted to know people's opinions.
Should I just get it directly from a local Apple store, or call the
toll free number or what to get it? And, is there any cheaper way to
get one than Apple, and still get one new? And one thing I never had
answered was the glossy screen. Does that cause any problems with
someone sighted who may be looking at it? Or someone vvisually
impaired for that matter. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Jerry
