Cara, it seems this thread really isn't going anywhere. I'll agree that some are complacent, but those are the same folks who are complacent regardless of the issue and actually I take some exception to the statement, because the fact of the matter is, there are those in the "sighted" community who are equally complacent. I think I've said enough on this topic and I can agree to disagree and move on. Let the facts stand on their own merit and show where Apple was and where they are today. I think based on that, you will find that they are committed even if at a much slower pace than any of us would like.

Add to this the facts that the market for usable products is smaller, and the income levels are generally lower, and you have a recipe for a community which may be voracious on one hand, and complacent on the other.

Now, this also can lead to feeling that potential benefactors aren't to be trusted, as well. the blind are a stressed community, so it's understandable to a degree.

This is why I think it's so important to help people or companies out, whom are trying to raise the status quo.
