Yep, that's what I'm doing. Then I found them still in the library
after first deleting them from within iTunes and also answering yes to
the trash prompt.
Strange.

moved to the Trash, they are gone for good, unless you have a copy
of that file somewhere else on your computer. The thing is you must
do this in iTunes and not simply delete the files using finder from

under for example Music, you will find all kinds of items that
should have been deleted. I wish there really was a way to truly
delete items, instead of them still taking up loads os space.
