I've thought about that, but I don't think it's really practical--or desirable--to force the use of styles. Better would be an easy way to assign styles to keyboard shortcuts and/or toolbar buttons. The Organizer tab would be the place for that.

It blocks the inheritance of the attribute that was changed. It does not block the inheritence of ather, unchanged attributes.

That behavior isn't entirely obvious. It should be made explicit with the use of "Don't Change" options or something similar.
