Baecker and Marcus's system, although very elegant, only distinguishes rather surface
features of the code. I have always felt it would be interesting to try to offer
perceptual cues to deeper structures.

Following the Soloway/Rist approach would go towards programming plans. Or Tony Cornah
and I tried to pick out basic blocks and data flow. Other candidates?

Sajaniemi reported on something a bit similar in a PPIG workshop a couple of years
ago, didn't he? What was that? is it relevant?

So, a question for all: if Alan gets something going, what structures would be
highlighted in a programming editor? How would they vary with the type of language?

Suggestions please? (Don't let's worry overmuch about small matters of feasability)
