"Were there any aspects of it where a hardware sampler might be more useful (i'm guessing not)?"

I still use a hardware sampler to take the load of the PC. That's the only advantage from my point of view. I've never had a problem so far, but I don't want to be mixing down one day and all of a sudden, things start to freeze up, because I'm using too much CPU.

Hi Lee

Nice to know that Kontakt is good. Were there any aspects of it where a hardware sampler might be more useful (i'm guessing not)?

Might well get a fast PC, Event card and use that or try a second hand G4 and Logic/EXS sampler.
Is there any way to get copies of Logic Platinum software for the PC anymore - short of buying a Mac, i'll have to use Cubase instead ;-(

PS - you now with Mixnblen?
