BTW - as an addendum to this - you can use your redrum as a sampler as well... although the range of controls you have over the individual sounds will be reduced. but if filtering is mostly what you like about the nn-19 (which i tend to use quite a bit of in my tunes) you can always load a sample into one of the channels on a redrum and then run it though an envelope controlled filter (only thing that sucks about those is that you can't use hi-pass or notch filtering, but if you don't need them then it's no big deal).
also - you can change the gate setting on individual redrum channels - so that the sample will either play in its entirety no matter how small of a midi note you draw out, or so the sample will play for as long as the midi is drawn out (the gate control is right by the velocity knob on any given channel). for your own sake though, seriously, go through the help file - read the contents - learn how best to use each individual module. it's invaluable, trust me. ~Andy > -----Original Message----- > From: Andy Abang [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Monday, March 17, 2003 3:40 PM > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] RE: REASON > > > I'm not sure how you mean the "other part of the sampler", but here's what > i'd do... > > right click (or the mac equiv of a right click if you're not using PC) the > nn-19 just about anywhere on the module, and a menu will pop up - choose > "browse samples" - find the sample you want, then choose "OK". > > From here, you just have to write midi into the sequencer to play > the sample > back. if it's an 8 bar loop, and you want the whole thing to play, you'll > have to draw a block in your sequencer that's 8 bars long - the > shorter you > draw out your midi data the less time the sample will actually play. > > :) > > ~Andy > > -----Original Message----- > From: ROB GRI [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Monday, March 17, 2003 3:33 PM > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] REASON > > > I have a 8 beat loop I cut in soundforge How do I throw it in the nn-19 > sampler? > I can throw it in the other part of the sampler but it only > plays a little > snippet of the loop. > I really like the things you can do with samples in the nn-19 sampler. > > thanx > peace! > > > > MSN 8 helps ELIMINATE E-MAIL VIRUSES.
