I have a Quantum Fireball 10 gig drive which came with my e5K turbo. Havent
had any problems with it (yet). I dont think you neccesarily need the
hardrive mounting kit EMU from since it's just a data cable, power cable and
some screws, but it nice cause they are all the right size and you dont have
to worry about trying to stuff a 3 foot cable into the case.

Sounds to me like you got duped on the RAM =( Try taking the other chip
out - i think (but am not sure) that they need to be even pairs. Perhaps
one is 16MB, and the other is 64MB but it will only read 32MB because it's
drops the first one to 16Mb. I'm not 100% sure on this, but worth a try.
There is no special setup required to installing the ram so it sounds like
you got a bum deal.

hope this helps,
trust

Subject: [dnb-prod] Question for the EMU heads

Ok, looking to buy a SCSI HD for my E6400 Ultra sampler --
a reasonably large drive, 20-30+ gigs.

I've checked emu.com and they have a rather old list of compatible
drives: Quantum, Seagate, Plextor... Question is, what do you all
recommend? Models, Price range, places to buy, etc. Do I need
to buy the HD mounting kit from Emu?

One more question. I recently picked up 128MB RAM from Ebay for
aforementioned sampler and after installing it, it will only recognize
32MB. I took one of the chipsets out and it read 16MB. The seller
swears to me that they are 2 64MB chipsets. Am I doing something
wrong or have I been duped?

Fuckit, one last question. Any recommendations for a SCSI card for
my Powerbook? Does adaptec make a PC card for laptops?

Any help would be much appreciated.
