Oh yeah, mentioning the SIMMS thing, I don't know if speed effects how the EMU sees the memory. I know with some of the SIMM chips, if you stuck in a slower speed (i.e slower acccess), it wouldn't see the memory size correctly. Also had this with some of the early DIMM chips, where it would see it as a lower memory size (though it was pretty marginal i.e less than 10% difference)...

Of course, if you are working with large audio files you are going to need quite a few... I'm not sure how else you are were planning to save the tune anwya since you dont have an intenal hard drive installed? If you have a SCSI zip drive and can find the right cable you can save your bank to zip drive. ez, trust -----Original Message----- From: David Martin [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, June 02, 2003 12:43 PM To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List Subject: [dnb-prod] RE: Question for the EMU heads Thanks for the reply. I've emailed Emu support and am waiting for a response. It looks like EOS 4.x only supports up to 18GB. I will check out the Quantum Fireball drive. Right now I'm looking at the Seagate BARRACUDA ST118273LC 18GB. The spec is 80pin Ultra2 SCSI wide so I'm unsure if it's compatible. I know there's an adaptor for 80pin -> 50 pin. Seems that way about the RAM tho. =( I hesitate to switch out the RAM at this point because I've set up some banks for my latest tune and will obviously lose all data when I switch the sampler off. C'est la vie. Trust wrote: >I have a Quantum Fireball 10 gig drive which came with my e5K turbo. Havent >had any problems with it (yet).
