You can actually back up to floppy if you have to.  Of course, if you are
working with large audio files you are going to need quite a few...

I'm not sure how else you are were planning to save the tune anwya since you
dont have an intenal hard drive installed?  If you have a SCSI zip drive and
can find the right cable you can save your bank to zip drive.

It looks like EOS 4.x only supports up to 18GB.  I will check out the
Quantum Fireball
drive. Right now I'm looking at the Seagate BARRACUDA ST118273LC 18GB.
The spec is 80pin Ultra2 SCSI wide so I'm unsure if it's compatible.  I
know there's an adaptor
for 80pin -> 50 pin.

Seems that way about the RAM tho.  =(
I hesitate to switch out the RAM at this point because I've set up some
banks for my latest
tune and will obviously lose all data when I switch the sampler off.
