Agreed, but why do we need to save space?  It would be possible to have the 
data structure that stores the delete RR point to the RR that’s to be deleted, 
so if on-disk or in-memory efficiency is really important, this would address 
that.   In practice, though, this option isn’t likely to be in use on servers, 
like large ISP caches, where space is at a premium.   So this seems like a 
false economy.
