No, not for the moment at least. As the announcement says it'll give a 404. But I still would like Tucows to answer the questions asked on this list. And because I (as others here) assume that this change was made in preparation of the domain auctioning system I demand that we will get advance information for the final roll out much earlier than the two days given in this case.
