Hello club,

I am like Steve, I was 9 when I saw the Beatles on Ed
Sullivan, and the rest is history. I began playing
guitar at 10, got my first electric guitar at 12 and
started a small band. We were horrible, but we were
doing it. Songs like Wipeout, Memphis, Secret Agent
Man, My Girl. Man, those were fun days, the beginnings
of my musical life. Today, as a 44 year old husband
and father, I still play music with the guys from my
high school band, although it is very difficult
finding the time these days. I did learn one
thing....don't quit the day job unless you can devote
your full time to music. Music requires and deserves
your full devotion if you want to reach the gold ring.
My life wouldn't be rich without music, so I keep my
music near the top of my priorities.

Other musical influences are far too many to note here
because almost every guitarist out there who received
air play had an influence on me. Obviously, Pat and
Tom were major influences on me in high school, but so
was Jimi Hendrix, Duane Alman, Eric Clapton, Carlos
Santana, Neil Young, Joe Walsh....and even James
Taylor. Later in my life came Ted Nugent, Bad Company,
Boston, Rush, Pure Prarie League, America, and the
list goes on and on. These days, I can find as much
pleasure from Dan Fogelberg (Phoenix), Jackson Browne
(first album) and Gerry Rafferty (City to City) as
just about any other artist. So, with my life surely
moving forward, I keep my musical heart in the past,
where I still believe the best music resides, and from
where I think Pat and Tom still draw their musical
energies from.

Not everyone will agree with me, and that is as it
should be. These are just my personal reflections.
Thanks for listening.

Dave
