Everyone has made some valid points on this subject. My pieve is the fact
that it all gets so categorized. Our classic rock station, Q104.3, plays
LTTM, LTR, CG, BW, w/ an occasional PGLA, and that's it. I guess after those
classics, the Doobies got too top 40 in their eyes. However, Billy Joel's
"New York State of Mind" and Meatloaf's "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" get air
play. With them as their benchmark, any of the Doobies hits could be played,
even "What A Fool Believes". I don't understand the arbitrary nature of all
this. These people just don't have a clue!!! Rocket scientists don't work
at radio stations!!!
I also agree that a station that plays album cuts is sorely needed. I like
hits, but there are some great songs out there that were never released as
singles...like "Without You".
Another Harrruummmph!!!!
