I have a TP-Link 305 Wifi extender and it was not easy to set up, as a
matter of fact the 'remote' wifi connection I was unable to change the
SSID, though I could change the security Key.
My extender is Netgear WN3000RPv3, which is now very old and is no longer
available except at a vastly inflated price.
However, it defaults to creating a new AP on the same channel and ESSID as the
original, but it also allows everything to be changed.
I nearly bought one of these Wifi double sockets with USB point

except that I then thought of the cost of having an electrician in to fit it or
approve the work. Years ago I would have just done it. Now I have lost one of
the sockets in my kitchen for the extender - it was only used for a USB charger
anyway.
Does anyone have any experience of these? I was a bit concerned about the wifi
coverage as that is what I needed it for.
