Hi,
I'm beginning to be a bit suspicious about the quality of the latest Kubuntu
flavour. Apart from the problem with Konquerer that I reported the other day,
I am now having problems with connecting to remote devices.
Thursday is my day that my machine is backed up using the Ubuntu 'Backup'
program, which is a front-end to Deja Dup. My backup target is a NAS Box that
provides access via SMP protocol. This morning the backup failed with the
message:
'Failed to mount Windows share: Invalid Argument'
There is nothing wrong with the target, because I'm able to mount and browse
the backed up files using the same credentials typed into Dolphin.
Then I was attempting to upload some screenshots to my webserver using
Filezilla, but this failed with a message that it was unable to connect. I've
contacted my hosting provider and the support guy was able to confirm that the
server was OK and my credentials correct.
I tried to connect to the hosting account using SSH, but that didn't even time
out, it simply never returned. (I'm not sure that I've ever been able to do
this, because I've always used Filezilla in the past.)
Any ideas about what might have happened?
Sorry Terry, I have never used the *.10 versions, as I consider them interim
releases. I guess the best bet is to revert to 25.04.
