eBay bashing has become quite popular, however I have made several good
purchases and a few sales that I otherwise could not have made using
conventional avenues. Hamfests are fine, but most are too far away from my
location to be of any benefit; Dayton is many thousands of miles away - eBay is
one click away.

I also agree that eBay is being invaded by too many commercial vendors selling
items of doubtful value or appeal. However, given time, this too should
self-correct - the vendors will realize the limited appeal of their products
(ie: low sales and profits).

Like it or lump it, eBay is a reflection of the free market with surprisingly
few regulations.

BTW, I will be in Dayton this year and look forward to meeting a few of you at
the Drake forum on Friday.

Regards
