I tried several resolutions:

              AGP1 AGP4
 640x480-16:  693  693
 800x600-16:  649  665
1024x768-16:  618  620
1152x864-16:  603  624

 640x480-24:  354  357
 800x600-24:  323  326
1024x768-24:  300  303
1152x864-24:  305  302

This looks sane. Seems as if the video memory bandwidth of my card _is_ way
slower than the data Felix posted for his card.
