2 things:

The GPS strings were not received well by the other radio.  The GPS 
strings will start with $GPRMC or $GPGGA.  As you can see, your strings 
were garbled.

The proper C1 message for KD5DZU M and the truck symbol is LK  *37  
Note that you must put the full callsign/ID of the radio into 
dprscalc.aspx to generate the proper checksum (unless, of course, you 
are not using M as your ID which would make that line garbled, as well).
