I know this is probably dumb, but did you ever use an AC adapter you 
know is good (just to be sure) ?

Cleaning the battery terminals never hurts.  What system were you 
using ?  Earlier systems may not recognize later (T2,3) batts.

I guess I would check the AC adapter port for damage.  I kind of 
doubt you will see anything though.

About the only thing I can think of then, is to leave a unit with a 
good param batt in it, hooked up to a good AC adapter overnight, and 
see if it boots the next day (letting the Gremlins drain out).

Other than that, I dont know.
